what it means to be
a savvy stylist

what to know
At some point in our lives, we all take on each one of the six stylist personas. As we grow and evolve as individuals, it only makes sense that our style - how we visually communicate who we are - will grow and evolve as well. And it’s in these transitions and evolutions that we shift personas. So, keep this in mind. Where you are now is not necessarily where you’ll always be. And you, my friend, are the one who has the power to shift your persona if you wish to do so. Let me show you how.
as a savvy stylist you…
» Bring together who you are, the aesthetics you like, and your lifestyle to create a core style
» Value your aesthetics just as much as you value your core beliefs
» Maintain your vision for how you show up in the world even if it isn’t what’s popular or trendy
keep in mind
» You want to allow your core style to evolve alongside you. Often savvy stylists find themselves believing they have their style figured out so they stick with it only to find them stuck in that style down the line.
» You may have created your core style without thought. Either you followed your intuition or you found your way here. Understanding what it takes to create a core style will allow you to not only see how you got to where you are now but also ensure you can evolve your style moving forward.
where to focus
the core style process
your focus area: evolution + process
You’re in a bit of unique position as a savvy stylist.
While all of the other five personas focus in on one or more parts of the Core Style process, you don’t. Instead, the process itself and how your current style fits into this process are the key areas of focus for you.
Your goal is to ensure that you evolve your style as you, your tastes, and your lifestyle grow and evolve. One piece of this is making sure you understand how you got to where you are today with your style. This provides you clarity to make subtle shifts moving forward to maintain alignment and stay savvy. It also gives you insight to the process so that if you ever fall need to get back on track you can do so easily and without rebuilding from the beginning.
You have clarity on your Core Style persona. You’ve got insight on where to put your focus.
Now let’s get started and actually take some action … because a parked car never moves and thinking about your identity and style isn’t going to make it appear for you!
